About us
Who we are
Oakwood Primary PTA brings together the parents, carers and staff of Oakwood Primary School. Every parent and carer with a child at the school is already a member, and so is every member of staff — friends of the school are welcome too. There is nothing to join and no subscription to pay.
What we exist to do
To advance the education of pupils at the school by developing effective relationships between staff, parents and others associated with the school, and by providing activities, facilities or equipment that support the school and the education of its pupils.
How we are run
We are an unincorporated association governed by the Parentkind Model Constitution for PTAs, and a registered charity. The committee members are the charity's trustees. We hold an AGM every September, open to every parent and member of staff.
Our accounts and annual report are available to any member. The What we fund page is the plain-English version; the signed documents are on the Documents page.

The committee
A small group of volunteers, elected at the AGM each September.
- Chair Sam Taylor Keeps the whole thing pointing the same way, and chairs the meetings.
- Vice Chair Tom Hughes Events, and the person with the gazebo.
- Treasurer Priya Shah Counts the float, banks the takings and signs off the accounts.
- Secretary Jo Evans Agendas, minutes and the newsletter.
- Uniform Aisha Khan Runs the preloved uniform rail and every reservation that comes in.
- Forum and social media Mark Wilson Looks after the parents’ forum and the Facebook page.
